Our Researchers Honored
“Physics of Welding Award”
On October 31, Prof. Hideya Nishiyama and Research Associate Hidemasa Takana of
the Institute of Fluid Science(IFS), Tohoku University was presented the
“Physics of Welding Award”
from Japan Welding Society for
their outstanding research achievement in arc physics.
The award is for recognition in their outstanding research achievements with the
Joining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI), Osaka University.
Japan Welding Society evaluated the joint research on
“Optimization of Arc Melting System by Integrated Model Considering Mushy Zone”,
announcing that the study will contribute greatly to the progress in research on
the physics of welding.
