Prof. Masashi Kawasaki wins the 19th Japan IBM
Science Award
We are proud of announcing that Prof. Masaki Kawasaki, the
Institute for Materials Research wins the 19th
Japan IBM Science Award for his outstanding research
progress of “Exploration of Oxide Electronics through
Integrated Atomic Epitaxy. Prof. Kawasaki has established
the technology for controlling oxide thin film growth in an
atomic scale. Moreover, his study of laser
molecular-beam
epitaxial growth enabled his research team to develop novel
electric functionalities of oxides such as
zinc oxide based blue light emitting diode.
A series of these research achievements have worldwide
recognition as great research achievements which further
enhance the capability of electric oxides.
