Agreement for Education and Research Cooperation
Signed with Écoles Centrale,
France
On November 28, Tohoku University and 5 schools of
Écoles Centrale (Lille,
Lyon, Marseille, Nantes and Paris, France) signed Agreement
for Education and Research Cooperation at
École Centrale Lyon.

Our Executive Vice President Hitoshi Ohnishi signed on
behalf of President Takashi Yoshimoto with Directors and
representatives from all 5 Écoles
Centrale. The ceremony was celebrated with a toast of
champagne.
Écoles
Centrale is a group of grades
écoles that send graduates who are prospective
leaders and executives to work at governments and private
enterprises.
Students are educated as generalists through a wide-range of
science and business study and internship with graduates
showing remarkable achievement in various fields.
The Agreement was signed with all 5 schools, and is also
expected to be a base for future Double Degree Program. The
only agreement that Tohoku University had with
École Centrale de Lyon was
signed in May, 2003, which was abolished and replaced with
this signing.
This agreement would enable us to receive top-class students
from France and allow our students who participate in this
program to develop broader knowledge through grande
école education and learn
fully from network of “leaders-to-be” in France.
