It’s been half a century since optical communication was implemented. Tohoku University has used innovative technologies like fiber-optic, semiconductor lasers as a basis to send out to the world.
There is no stopping the evolution of high speed, high capacity communication that supports our advanced IT society. This lecture series has invited the inventor of the Blue Light Emitting Diode (LED), the 2014 Nobel Physics Prize winner, and University of California, Santa Barbara Professor Shuji Nakamura to give his outlook on cutting-edge optical technology and the future that technology will bring to society.
