The Global Operations Center(GOC)was established in June 2005 in order to create a university-wide international strategy with the objective of exercising strategic international exchange. GOC originally consisted of a task force, the International Exchange Division of the International Affairs Department and the Student Exchange Division of the International Affairs Department. From FY2005 to FY2009, GOC received support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology project for the“Establishment of International Headquarters in Universities”.
(Since July 1st 2010, GOC has been operated by the Student Exchange Division of Education and Student Support Department, the International Exchange Division, and the Center for International Exchange after Tohoku University reorganized its International Affairs Department.)
